Boris Johnson’s controversial former right-hand man Dominic Cummings made more than £132,000 from his new IT consultancy business after leaving Number 10, it has been revealed.

When it was created the nature of the business was unclear, with documents saying only that it was involved in ‘information technology consultancy activities’.

The company, which shares its name with an oasis in the Egyptian desert, earned £132,666 in its first year, according to the inaugural set of accounts filed on 17 November.

Mr Cummings, a former top aide to Boris Johnson, resigned in November 2020 after the PM’s then-fiancée Carrie Symonds allegedly blocked the promotion of his right-hand man Le Cain following months of civil war on Downing Street.

During his time as Mr Johnson’s most senior official, Mr Cummings issued a clarion call for ‘weirds’ and ‘misfits’ to work in Number 10.
