Chesapeake police have released the names of the victims of Tuesday night’s mass shooting at the local Walmart.

A statement released by the city read: “We are saddened to announce the names of those we lost Tuesday night in the shooting at Walmart on Sam’s Circle, but hope that with this information we can honor their life in our community.”

“The City of Chesapeake has always been known as the ‘city that cares,’ and now, more than ever, we know our city will step up and take care of those who need it most,” he continues.

“Please join us in praying for the family and friends of these community members we have lost: Lorenzo Gamble, Brian Pendleton, Kellie Pyle, Randall Blevins and Tyneka Johnson.”

The sixth victim has not been named because he is a minor. He is described as a 16-year-old male residing in Chesapeake.

Andre Bing, a 31-year-old Chesapeake Walmart employee, is charged with opening fire with a pistol inside the Sam’s Circle store break room at around 10 p.m. Tuesday night.

All six victims were killed in the attack before Bing, a night shift supervisor who had worked at the company for 12 years, was fatally shot with his own weapon, police said. His body was found in the store’s break room along with two of his alleged victims.

The motive for the attack remains unclear, but surviving employees revealed the 31-year-old had ‘issues’ with other staff as the mass shooting approached.

Walmart confirmed the identity of the shooter in a statement to The Independent Wednesday.

“As details of the tragic incident at our Chesapeake, Va. store continue to emerge, authorities have confirmed multiple deaths. A witness who had worked at the store for just five days before Tuesday’s massacre said it had already become clear in that short time that Bing was having “issues” with some of the other branch managers.

“I looked up and my manager just opened the door and he just opened fire,” she said.

She added that she did not believe the suspect was targeting specific individuals, but was simply aiming for the first person “in his eyes”.

“He literally started shooting all over the break room and I saw several people fall to the ground, where they were trying to take cover or they got hit,” she said.

“He didn’t say a word, he didn’t say anything at all… He just came around the corner and started shooting.

“The first person that was in his sight he shot him and the next thing you know he just started rigging all over the break room but he didn’t say a word.”
