Sam Neill assures fans he’s ‘alive and kicking’ as blood cancer is in remission

“Jurassic Park” star Sam Neill assured fans that he is “fine” following growing concerns over his health since being treated for cancer.

Neill in his upcoming memoir “Did I Ever Tell You This?” reveals his battle with stage 3 blood cancer.

The 75-year-old said he was soon diagnosed with angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma, undergoing chemotherapy until he switched to a new drug, which he expects to take every month for the rest of his life.

“I’m alive and well and I’ve been in recovery for 8 months, which feels really good,” he said in a video Shared on the forum on Friday. “And I’m alive and kicking and I’m going to work.”

Neill, who has been in remission for 8 months, said he is returning to onscreen work within days with Annette Bening in the limited series “Apples Never Fall.”

“I’m so happy to be back at work,” Neil told his 542,000 followers. “Let’s not worry too much about ‘all that’ because I’m fine. Fine,” he concluded his video, referring to concerns over his previous diagnosis.

Concerns about Neil’s health had risen after an excerpt from his book surfaced on Friday.

“The thing is, I’m badass. Probably dying,” he writes in the first chapter, which comes out Tuesday. “I might have to speed it up.”

He said he never intended to write a memoir, but began doing so last year during treatment, as he felt it was “really giving me a reason to live.”

Neil said he is now cancer-free, although he is dependent on monthly chemotherapy medication.

The actor gained international fame in 1993 with his role as Dr. Alan Grant in “Jurassic Park”.

He played the same character in the 2001 film “Jurassic Park III” and the 2022 film “Jurassic World Dominion”.
